Project Liberation - My Alopecia Experience
“Project Liberation-My Alopecia Experience”, is the first film release from Dubose Entertainment. It was produced and directed by singer/actress, now independent filmmaker, Sandra Dubose.
In this inspiring self-documentary, Sandra shares the story of her personal journey toward self love and self acceptance as she experienced complete hair loss beginning at the age of 25 due to the medically incurable autoimmune disease, Alopecia Universalis .
This film is a must see for any one dealing with any form of Alopecia Areata or hair loss due to chemotherapy, disease, medications or genetic baldness. It is a wonderful support tool for those who are effected by it and a great resource for Alopecia Awareness for others who are not.
In this film, Sandra accompanied by her closest friends of The Link Sister Circle, explore the relationship women have with their hair and uncover the true origin of beauty. Sandra talks candidly about the emotional rollercoaster and her innermost thoughts as she transitioned into her new identity living as a bald woman not by choice. For those who are dealing with self image issues or low self esteem for any reason, you will be inspired as you witness Sandra’s courage when she goes outside bald for the very first time and celebrates herself by doing a bald photo shoot. Project Liberation is a source of information, entertainment and inspiration. Filled with heartwarming moments, loads of laughter and happy tears, this film is a story worth sharing with everyone you know.
To accompany the film, Sandra has written and recorded a mini music soundtrack, Project Liberation Soundtrack. It is currently available for digital download on Itunes, Amazon, CD Baby and other online record stores. It is an inspirational medley of music to affirm and empower every listener and it is just a taste of what is to come from this dynamic songwriter and vocalist.
